ABOUT ABOUT

Comedy Night at The Grapevine Cafe is back and has something special planned for March 24. Debbie Joan Miller is bringing in five friends from out of town to keep the audience laughing all night. Phil Canarelli will serve as host, while AJ McIntyre, Kelsey Claire Hagen, Angelia Petrillo and Madelein Smith give the crowd an ab workout.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show will start at 7:30. Tickets are $10 and available at the door or online.

About the promoter:
Debbie Miller, a Binghamton favorite, is the architect of the Night of Debauchery series, the Debonair Affair and the Comedy Nights at the Grapevine Cafe. In three years as a comedian, Miller used her enthusiastic style to establish herself as a strong host while organizing and running Matty B’s open-mic nights. A P.S.Y.C.H. 607 member, too, she’s hosted numerous shows in Binghamton and Scranton and worked behind the scenes on the production and social-media promotion sides to ensure things have gone smoothly.

About the comedians:
Poor Decisions Live! co-founder Phil Canarelli is no stranger to Binghamton. One of the bright spots in Utica, Canarelli combines a love story-telling, comic-book culture and not having children to present the audience with an enjoyable display of what a young comic should be. He does not like squirrels.

From Long Island, N.Y., comedian AJ McIntyre burst out of the Ithaca scene recently and is making a name for himself across the region. McIntyre shuffles between Ithaca, Syracuse, Binghamton and Cortland to spread his wisdom and tales to any audience that'll listen.

Kelsey Claire Hagen, a Wisconsin native, teamed up with Madelein Smith to produce the Red, White and Riot tour that hit Ithaca, Pittsburgh, New York City and Toronto. Hagen has opened for Nikki Glaser, Pete Johansen and Maria Bamford to the list. She's performed at the Burning Bridges Festival in Pittsburgh, works consistently along the East Coast and is the creator of the Don't Grab My Pussy comedy show.

Nothing is off-limits for Angelia Petrillo, who's everywhere around the Scranton area and has performed in New York City. Petrillo produces shows all over Scranton and won Matty B's Roast Battle II. A founder of StreetKar Comedy, Petrillo combines heavy doses of self-loathing and her musical talent to keep the crowd laughing.

Based in New York City, Madelein Smith rarely takes a night off. In addition to her work on the Red, White and Riot tour, Smith won the March Laughness Comedy tournament twice, the 'Cuse Comedy Showcase and the Who's Got Next? Rochester tournaments along with being a semifinalist at the 2016 Ladies of Laughter in New York City. Smith performs regularly in the city, tours colleges, opened for Rachel Feinstein and Rich Vos and organized the Rage Against the Vageen monthly show in Webster.
